This is a DVD for patients having surgery for bowel (colorectal, colon, rectum) cancer. It was developed at York Hospitals, UK, and tells the story of a person having surgery for bowel cancer. It covers explanation of common terms such as colon, rectum etc, the investigations (tests before surgery including CT and MR scans and colonoscopy, preparation for surgery (including staging, radiotherapy, stoma sites and preparation etc), admission for surgery (the dressings, drips, catheters, drains care and the recovery) and the after care and follow up.
