Building Successful R&D Collaborations with the NHS

The knowledge base in the NHS is one of the most respected in the world and one of the central building blocks for growth of the Life Sciences Industry in the UK. This half day conference will look at how academia and industry can successfully engage with NHS staff for the purposes of collaborative R&D and clinical trials.

1.30pm – 5.00pm, Thursday 10th October 2013

Tankersley Manor Hotel, Church Ln, Tankersley, South Yorkshire S75 3DQ

Organised jointly by Medipex and the Health Tech KTN, Building Successful R&D Collaborations with the NHS will give an overview of the UK Life Sciences Strategy, how this fits with Innovation Health and Wealth, why working with the NHS is central to it and what infrastructure exists within the reformed NHS to support industry engagement. It will also look at IP considerations in collaboration agreements and contracts and why it is important to get these considerations right at the start of any collaboration from the perspective of international IP law and the international competitiveness of UK plc. It will then look at the funding landscape and the sorts of funds that companies can access for R&D involving NHS partners as well as the wider private investment landscape in the UK.

This event is aimed at anyone interested in learning more about how to engage with the NHS for R&D of new medical device, diagnostic, biotechnology or pharmaceutical products.  Speakers at the event will include Adam Hill from the UK Life Sciences Investment Organisation and Carl Edwards from the EM-AHSN

Attendance at this event will cost £45.00 + VAT (£35.00 + VAT if booked before 10th September 2013). Places at this event are limited so early booking is essential.
